Chris Bryant
President

Chris serves as President of SDEA. Chris came to SDEA after spending many years in the financial services industry where she where she held a wide spectrum of  leadership roles in Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Lending and Administration at the local, statewide, and national levels.

Chris volunteers with a number of organizations and is known for her commitment to the San Diego community. She serves as the Treasurer for Rest Haven’s Children’s Health Fund,  is a member of Executive Committee for the Executives Association of San Diego, a member of Rotary Club 33 and a Finance Committee Member for the Council of Community Clinics.  Chris is also a graduate of LEAD San Diego.

Outside of SDEA, Chris’s main joy is spending time with husband Bill and her son Spenser.

Jennifer Jacobus, PHR-CA
Director of HR Services

Jennifer serves as Director of HR Services.  During her 25 years with SDEA, Jennifer has received Human Resource industry awards and is considered an expert in the field of Human Resources. Jennifer conducts Human Resources audits, drafts and reviews employee handbooks, and provides input and assistance with employment-related issues. She conducts training on the subjects of employment law, AB1825 harassment training, exempt and non-exempt status, independent contractors, and handbook policies.  Jennifer is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) nationally and with the state of California, through the Human Resources Certificate Institute. She also received a Human Resources certification through the College of Extended Studies through the University of California San Diego.

Jennifer is a long-standing member of both the national and local chapters of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Jenny Kazan-Mills, SPHR
Human Resources Consultant

Jenny serves as a Human Resources Consultant with SDEA.  Previously she worked as a Human Resources professional within a variety of companies in both the private and public sectors.

Jenny’s Human Resources management background includes experience in the manufacturing, financial services, biotechnology, non-profit and government sectors.  She has performed a full-range of Human Resources professional functions, including talent management, benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, and implementing business strategic initiatives.  Jenny is affiliated with the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the San Diego Forum.  She is a graduate of San Diego State University.

Jenny enjoys volunteer work, exercise, travel and spending time with her friends and family.  She is a fan of San Diego sports teams including the Padres, Chargers, and Aztecs.

Nicole Lucas
Marketing and Public Relations Manager

Nicole serves as Marketing and Public Relations Manager with SDEA.  She previously held marketing and communications positions in both business and educational organizations in San Diego and St. Paul, MN.  Nicole works to expand the reach of SDEA’s services and trainings, assisting businesses across Southern California with their HR needs. She is passionate about advancing access to education, professional development, and leadership training opportunities within the San Diego community and beyond.  Nicole holds a B.A. in Psychology from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN and a masters degree in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego.

Steve Hubbard
Member Relations Manager

Steve serves as Manager of Member Relations with SDEA. An Army veteran, he has more than 35 years of Business Development and Community Relations experience in the San Diego business community. Steve has been involved with several successful technology companies and has been active in a number of military and law enforcement related organizations and support groups.

He is a long-time member of San Diego Rotary Club 33 and been involved in many various committees.  Steve holds a B.M. degree from San Diego State University and has completed graduate studies at Cal State, Fullerton.

Lauren Cajka
Member Services Coordinator

Lauren serves as Member Services Coordinator with SDEA.  A San Diego native, Lauren received her B.A. in Political Science from California State University, Northridge.  Lauren is currently earning her HR Certification through SDEA. She is also earning a certification in Mediation and plans to begin mediating in a variety of fields.
