San Diego Employers Association hosts monthly HR Roundtables that focus on a particular topic of interest to San Diego businesses and employers. Each Roundtable is presented by an expert in the industry of discussion. Attendees are given the opportunity to ask the speaker questions and discuss their thoughts.  These are excellent opportunities to learn, meet people, and engage with people from a variety of local companies.

When Reasonable Accommodations Are Anything But…

The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) requires employers to reasonably accommodate employees with disabilities. The ADA also requires that employers engage in the “interactive process” when exploring accommodations. What is considered “reasonable” and when does it become unreasonable? What about the employee who is not cooperating or who is unresponsive? Anyone dealing with this often frustratingly gray area of the law needs to attend this roundtable, where these questions and more will be answered. It’s better to be prepared than to make a costly mistake!
